Sorry Everybody

This is a great site... but really guys, it's not you we're blaming. You guys rock. It's the gay-hating, reactionary, xenophobic, anti-Islamic, Christian-right warmongers that are the problem.

I think my favourite message is on page 8: 'Dear world: Sorry we shat on your heart. Sincerely, America'.

I was going to respond to this post, but I realize that I am running late for Bible School. While on the ride over there in my SUV I think I am going terrorize some rag heads, minorities and homos. And if I can find the time over the weekend, maybe start a land war in Asia.

I know this comment is intended as hyperbole for comic effect, but a vote for Bush was a vote for exactly what I said above.

'I'm not a racist, I just hate black people'.

'I'm not a racist, I just voted for someone who is responsible for the indiscriminate slaughter of innocent muslims'.

'I'm not a bad guy. I just vote for them'.

To be honest, I don't really care who is offended that I conflate the 'good Republicans' with the 'retarded Republicans'. I'm sure many people voted for Strom Thurmond on the basis of his sound fiscal policies too... I just don't see why that makes it any better.

I see, so if I understand you correctly Bush Sr. was also a racist, Bill Clinton was a bigot for killing Africans, Serbians and also Muslims, JFK was xenophobic for sending troops to Asia (and consequently LBJ for keeping them there), and FDR was a murderer for starting a war against the good people of Nazi Germany. Or is it only slaughter when Conservatives are in power. What’s it called when a liberal is in charge... Foreign Aid?

It's called exactly the same thing when a Liberal does it too... except that I can't recall the last time a genuine liberal had a position of power in America. I'm not sure where you get the idea that I think Democrats are substantially better than Republicans - it's just that this time you're not voting for secret, hidden foreign policy. You're voting for pre-emptive war waged on the back of faulty, knee-jerk intelligence.

Some of us are still capable of seeing wrong as wrong regardless of which side of the political spectrum it comes from. Try it some-time.

P.S. I don't know if you voted Bush in the election, but it's fairly safe to say that if you did, then no... you don't understand me correctly. :-P
