More news on the growing tension between Journalists and Iraqi police can be found in this article. Threats of violence against journalists are now being made, such as this telling remark from a police lieutenant to the journalists and hotel staff: We are going to open fire on this hotel. I'm going to smash it all, kill you all, and I'm going to put four snipers to target anyone who goes out of the hotel. You have been warned.

Of course, this was later retracted, but even so - it shows the contempt that the new Iraqi forces have for the freedom of the press... a contempt that is hardening into genuine oppression every single day.
